About the role

Control and Protection System Engineer at GE Vernova, part of the HVDC control and protection team delivering competitive technical solutions for high‑voltage DC and AC systems. Designs control, protection and sequencing strategies, performs dynamic performance studies using MATLAB and PSCAD, and collaborates with system and cybersecurity experts to ensure compliant, reliable solutions. Noida, India – on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze customer specifications, identify gaps, and develop technical solutions for HVDC and AC control and protection systems
  • Prepare control, protection, and sequencing strategy specifications
  • Perform preliminary dynamic performance studies using simulation tools
  • Support improvements to algorithms for fault recovery and instability mitigation
  • Design AC substation single line diagrams and customize control architectures
  • Develop LAN network designs, IO lists, and ensure hardware compatibility
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity experts to ensure compliance with standards
  • Lead customer meetings and workshops, and manage engineering document delivery

What you’ll bring

  • 2-3 years experience in control and protection system design
  • Experience with PSCAD and MATLAB‑Simulink simulation tools
  • Knowledge of electrical substation HV/LV equipment and auxiliary systems
  • Familiarity with IEC 61850 and substation network protocols
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, e‑base, Microsoft Visio (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting
  • Ability to analyze customer specifications and develop technical solutions
  • Strong sense of urgency and risk management
