About the role
GE Vernova Grid Solutions' Control & Protection team designs and optimizes protection relay systems for high‑voltage substations. The engineer leads technical development, creates scheme drawings, performs relay setting calculations, and coordinates with global engineering centers. Based in Chennai with additional location in Noida, on‑site work model, relocation assistance provided.
What you’ll do
- Lead technical design of protection and automation schemes
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
- Perform load flow, short‑circuit, and relay coordination studies
- Review and consolidate IO mapping and BOQ documents
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years substation protection relay experience
- E‑CAD tool proficiency (E‑Plan, AutoCAD Electrical, etc.)
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 automation standards
- Experience in EPC environments
- Relay testing and commissioning experience
