Application Engineer III

About the role

Johnson Controls – Building Solutions team reimagines building performance for people, places and the planet. The Application Engineer III supports pre‑sales engineering for global fire detection system projects, preparing bills of material, cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with regional codes. Bangalore, on‑site, hybrid schedule with occasional travel to client sites.

What you’ll do

• Review project specifications and MEP drawings to capture scope
• Create and validate bills of material, cost sheets, and estimation charts
• Select appropriate fire alarm panels, controllers, and field devices
• Ensure compliance with fire alarm codes and regional regulations
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for procurement
• Maintain quality standards, on‑time delivery, and customer satisfaction
• Prepare weekly/monthly project progress reports
• Participate in kickoff and review meetings, logging technical queries and risks

What you’ll bring

• BE degree in relevant field
• 3-6 years fire detection system design and estimation
• Knowledge of fire alarm products (Simplex, VESDA, Zettler, Xtralis, Securiton, Wagner)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Blue Beam
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus protocols
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Leadership and team collaboration skills
