About the role

Vanguard India Office focuses on building AI, mobile, and cloud-based solutions to enhance client experiences. As an Application Engineer III you will lead backend system optimization, integrate multiple data sources and APIs, and produce detailed technical documentation while collaborating with front‑end teams. Hyderabad, India, hybrid work model (on‑site and remote).

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and implement backend applications and databases
• Lead backend performance optimization and scalability initiatives
• Integrate third‑party products, APIs, and data sources
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• Collaborate with front‑end teams on interface design
• Mentor junior staff and provide production support
• Ensure security, data protection, and compliance with enterprise standards
• Participate in code reviews and system analysis activities

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years software development
• Appian platform experience
• AWS Lambda and Step Functions
• SQL/advanced RDBMS optimization
• Python programming
• Typescript/JavaScript (React/Node)
• DevSecOps tools
• Agile, JIRA, Confluence
