About the role
Global Reinsurance Technology team at Swiss Re builds cloud-native applications and services that power the reinsurance business. The Application Engineer III designs, develops, and delivers high‑quality applications, components, and APIs, collaborating with global and outsourcing teams across the software lifecycle. Hyderabad, hybrid model with at least three days onsite, relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver scalable, maintainable applications and APIs
- Shape application architecture with cloud solution architects
- Leverage Azure and other cloud platforms for optimal solutions
- Prototype and evaluate new technologies, sharing insights across teams
- Collaborate with global and outsourced partners throughout delivery phases
- Communicate architectural concepts and engineering solutions to stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years software engineering experience
- Java, Spring Boot proficiency
- 3+ years Angular or React
- Azure cloud platform expertise
- REST API design with OpenAPI/Swagger
- DevOps experience with Azure DevOps or similar
- OAuth/OpenID Connect knowledge
- Strong problem‑solving and architectural skills
