About the role

Collins Aerospace team building safety‑critical embedded avionics software for next‑generation aerospace platforms. Principal Engineer leads design, development, and validation of embedded software, defines architecture, verification strategies, and mentors engineers across the SDLC. Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, hybrid work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

Develop and validate safety‑critical embedded software applications
Lead software development across the full SDLC
Translate system requirements into software specifications
Define software architecture and verification approaches
Create and review test plans, cases, and validation procedures
Ensure compliance with aerospace certification standards
Collaborate with systems, V&V, certification, and program management teams
Mentor engineers and drive continuous process improvements

What you’ll bring

12+ years embedded software development, aerospace
8+ years DO‑178 and ARP4754A certification experience
6+ years C++ development
Strong knowledge of ARINC 429, AFDX, ARINC 653, ARINC 615A
Experience defining verification and validation strategies
Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
