About the role
Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) engineering organization at Collins Aerospace, RTX. The Principal Engineer leads verification activities, mentors engineers, and collaborates across software, systems, and certification groups. Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – hybrid work model.
What you’ll do
- Define and execute verification strategies for DAL‑A avionics products
- Lead development of automation frameworks and test infrastructure
- Perform requirements‑based testing and structural coverage analysis
- Mentor engineering teams and conduct technical reviews
- Collaborate with architects to design scalable safety‑critical software
- Support certification activities and regulatory audits
- Analyze verification results and drive defect resolution
- Develop verification procedures and traceability solutions
What you’ll bring
- 9-14 years avionics software development and verification experience
- 8+ years C++ and Python development for embedded systems
- 8+ years experience with DO‑178B/C certification standards
- 5+ years designing and executing software verification plans
- Strong expertise in avionics navigation systems (ILS, VOR, GNSS)
- Experience with requirements tools such as DOORS or JIRA
- Proven technical leadership and mentorship abilities
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering
