CPU RTL Power Engineer (Sr Staff/Principal)
About the role
Qualcomm seeks a CPU RTL Power Engineer for its Snapdragon CPU design team in Bangalore, India. The role focuses on low power concepts, timing analysis, and optimization for high-performance SoCs in sub-10nm processes. This is an on-site position requiring extensive experience with ASIC flows and power domain definitions.
What you’ll do
- Participate in ASIC development involving low power concepts, low power checks, and timing/power analysis.
- Create design of experiments and perform detailed comparison analysis to improve quality of results.
- Collaborate with RTL design, physical design, low power, and automation teams to optimize performance and power.
- Tabulate metrics results for analysis and comparison.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field plus 4+ years experience; OR Master's plus 3+ years; OR PhD plus 2+ years.
Nice to have
- 12+ years of experience in low power design understanding and low power checks.
- Working knowledge of Primetime/PrimePower, Synthesis/Constraints, and Signoff STA.
- Extensive experience with Primetime/ptpx, PowerArtist, and Synthesis with DCT/DCG or RC/RCP.
- Experience completing ASIC flow with low power, performance, and area optimization techniques.
- Understanding of multiple power domains with complex UPF/CPF definition.
- Required Perl/Tcl scripting skills.
- Strong problem-solving and ASIC development/debugging skills.
- Experience with CPU micro-architecture, critical paths, and high-speed CPU implementation.
