CPU RTL Design, Senior Engineer/Lead/Staff/Senior Staff
About the role
Qualcomm CPU Engineering team designs high‑performance, low‑power CPU cores for next‑gen devices. The Senior/Lead/Staff Engineer will collaborate with chip architects to define micro‑architecture, develop RTL, and verify performance and power targets. Role based in Bangalore with on‑site work model, supporting full product lifecycle from specification to physical design validation.
What you’ll do
- Perform high‑performance strategy exploration with CPU modeling team
- Develop micro‑architecture specifications from concept to detailed design
- Own RTL development, targeting power, performance, area, and timing goals
- Support functional verification and performance verification efforts
- Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to deliver physical design meeting timing, area, reliability, and testability requirements
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
- Master's degree with 3+ years hardware engineering experience
- PhD with 2+ years hardware engineering experience
Nice to have
- 4+ years hardware engineering experience
- Expertise in microprocessor architecture (fetch, decode, branch prediction, out‑of‑order execution)
- Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL
- Experience with simulation and waveform debugging tools
- Knowledge of low‑power and high‑performance CPU techniques
- Scripting skills in Perl or Python
