About the role
Qualcomm India Private Limited seeks a CPU RTL Power Engineer for its Hardware Engineering group in Bangalore, India. The role focuses on developing ASICs and optimizing low power concepts for Snapdragon CPU designs in sub-10nm processes. Responsibilities include performing timing and power analysis, creating design experiments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance performance and power metrics.
What you’ll do
- Participate in ASIC development involving low power concepts, checks, timing, and power analysis.
- Create design of experiments and perform detailed comparison analysis to improve quality of results.
- Collaborate with RTL, physical design, and automation teams to optimize performance and power.
- Tabulate metrics results for analysis and comparison.
- Apply low power, performance, and area optimization techniques throughout the ASIC flow.
- Utilize STA using Primetime and PTPX for signoff verification.
- Manage multiple power domains with complex UPF/CPF definitions.
- Leverage understanding of place and route tools.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field plus 4+ years experience; OR Master's plus 3+ years; OR PhD plus 2+ years.
Nice to have
- 3-10 years of relevant work experience.
- Understanding of low power design and low power checks.
- Working knowledge of Primetime/Primepower, Synthesis/Constraints, and Signoff STA.
- Extensive experience with Primetime/ptpx, PowerArtist, and Synthesis tools.
- Experience with complete ASIC flow including low power, performance, and area optimization.
- Strong problem-solving and ASIC development/debugging skills.
- Experience with CPU micro-architecture, critical paths, and high-speed CPU implementation.
- Perl/Tcl scripting proficiency required.
