Staff Engineer, Backend Engineering

About the role

Aviatrix Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) team builds a multi‑cloud networking and security platform. The Staff Engineer leads backend design and delivery of high‑performance microservices, shaping architecture for scalability, fault tolerance, and multi‑tenancy. Works daily on Golang gRPC services, AWS managed services, and cloud‑native infrastructure, mentors junior engineers, and participates in on‑call incident response. Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

• Own design and delivery of backend platform features
• Contribute to architecture discussions on scalability and fault tolerance
• Develop high‑performance microservices using Golang, gRPC, and REST
• Implement observability, resiliency, and SLO‑driven operations
• Write design docs and support runbooks for production services
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in on‑call incident RCA

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years software engineering experience
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong Golang and gRPC experience
• Experience with AWS services (Aurora, MSK/Kafka, ClickHouse)
• Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Mentoring or leadership experience
