About the role
DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems team designs utility‑scale battery energy storage systems. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer leads mechanical architecture, performs detailed 3D design, structural FEA, and ensures compliance with safety and thermal standards. Works on‑site in Bengaluru, collaborating with thermal, electrical, and system engineers to deliver robust BESS racks and containers.
What you’ll bring
- 8-12 years mechanical design experience in BESS or similar energy storage
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CREO, CATIA or Siemens NX
- FEA expertise with ANSYS or Abaqus
- Knowledge of sheet‑metal, welded structures and modular assemblies
- Understanding of thermal interfaces, HVAC and fire suppression systems
- Experience with utility‑scale containerized BESS preferred
- Field commissioning or troubleshooting experience
