About the role
Transformers Business Unit at Hitachi Energy's Global Engineering Center in Vadodara is advancing sustainable energy solutions. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will design 1‑Phase and 3‑Phase distribution transformers, generate mechanical drawings, bills of materials and ensure compliance with IEEE/IEC/IS standards while coordinating with international factories. Maneja, Gujarat, India, on‑site work model.
What you’ll do
- Generate active part, tank and externals designs per standards
- Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings and BOMs
- Coordinate design activities across global factory network
- Participate in internal design concept reviews
- Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations
- Collaborate with technical teams worldwide
- Apply safety and integrity core values
What you’ll bring
- B.E/B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
- 9-12 years mechanical design experience for distribution transformers
- Proficiency with CAD/3D modeling, preferably Creo
- Understanding of transformer mechanical calculations and standards
- Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards
- Experience with winding design or tank externals a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Fluent English communication
