About the role
Rail Infrastructure Design Team at WSP builds and delivers lineside rail infrastructure and level crossing projects across the UK and GCC. The Principal BIM Technician leads BIM and CAD production, creates 3D MicroStation models, conducts clash detection with Navisworks/iTwin, and manages multidisciplinary coordination through ProjectWise. Bengaluru, India, hybrid work model with occasional travel to Noida.
What you’ll do
- Produce accurate 2D rail‑civils drawings to UK standards
- Develop and check 2D/3D models for multidisciplinary rail projects
- Create 3D MicroStation models and generate sections/cut‑through views
- Perform clash detection and support coordinated design reviews
- Manage CAD/BIM workflow and document control in ProjectWise
- Coordinate with multi‑discipline teams (MEP, architectural, telecom)
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Diploma
- 10-15 years rail infrastructure experience
- Experience with UK rail authorities (e.g., Network Rail, London Underground)
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AECOsim/OpenBuilding Designer, AutoCAD, Revit
- Clash detection using Navisworks or iTwin
- Ability to work unsupervised and mentor team members
