About the role
Global Category Procurement Operations team at 3M drives efficient sourcing and supplier management across the enterprise. The Senior Specialist executes sourcing activities, negotiates with suppliers, ensures compliance, and mentors junior staff while collaborating with global category leaders. Bangalore, Karnataka, India, hybrid work model (3 days onsite).
What you’ll do
- Support global category procurement teams in sourcing, supplier interactions, and stakeholder communication
- Conduct supplier negotiations for routine and tail‑spend matters, and lead broader negotiations as needed
- Maintain compliance with procurement controls, including bank verification and fraud prevention
- Develop negotiation strategies to achieve cost savings and service quality goals
- Mentor less experienced team members and lead or support assigned projects
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years total experience, including 4-6 years in procurement or category support
- Strong knowledge of procurement systems, ERP, and e‑sourcing tools such as SAP or Ariba
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills
- Analytical and customer‑focused approach to support decisions and improve service quality
- Experience working in a global, cross‑functional environment
