About the role

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) supports METRO’s global wholesale operations by delivering accurate demand forecasts and enhancing them with market intelligence. The Demand Planner analyzes historical data, generates statistical forecasts, and leads cross-functional collaboration to optimize supply chain performance. This full-time role is based in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

What you’ll do

• Ensure timely and accurate demand forecasts for assigned articles and categories
• Analyze and cleanse historical sales data to establish a foundation for forecasting
• Generate statistical forecasts for short-, mid-, and long-term horizons up to 52 weeks
• Calculate and refine promotional uplift in collaboration with other functions
• Manage exceptions identified by forecasting tools and take corrective actions
• Lead cross-functional demand planning meetings to achieve consensus on sales expectations
• Fine-tune forecasting algorithms and parameters to enhance accuracy
• Maintain Master Data in system

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Mathematics
• Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management
• Strong knowledge of demand planning, sales forecasting, and S&OP processes
• Hands-on experience with planning tools such as SAP IBP/APO, o9, BlueYonder/JDA, or Oracle Demantra
• High proficiency in analyzing data and applying forecasting methodologies
• Advanced capability in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Nice to have

• Experience with data mining and visualization tools like Power BI, SQL, or MS Access
• Familiarity with JDA Fulfillment and Allocation
• Exposure to retail or wholesale industry dynamics
• Fluency in additional languages
