Lead Mechanical Manager

About the role

Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) team at Larsen & Toubro focuses on delivering mechanical engineering solutions for desalination, water, effluent and sewage treatment plants. As Lead Mechanical Manager, you will mentor a team of engineers, drive design development of mechanical components, oversee piping and hydraulics modeling, and coordinate with consultants, vendors and clients to approve deliverables. Based in Chennai, India, this on‑site role requires 12‑15 years of experience and offers a competitive salary of INR 15,000‑25,000 per year.

What you’ll do

• Lead and mentor a team of Mechanical Engineers
• Design mechanical components for desalination and treatment projects
• Plan engineering deliverables, resource allocation and execution schedules
• Collaborate with civil, electrical and process disciplines for system integration
• Review and validate design deliverables and vendor proposals
• Drive continuous improvement in team productivity and skill development
• Perform piping design with hydraulics, surge and CFD analysis
• Manage client and consultant interactions for approvals

What you’ll bring

• 12-15 years mechanical engineering experience
• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5 years leadership/management experience
• Proven work in water, effluent & sewage treatment projects in Middle East/Africa
• Knowledge of ASME, BS EN, ISO, QCS codes
• Proficiency with WaterGEMS, CAESAR II, CFD tools
