Mechanical Lead

About the role

Mechanical Lead in the Advanced Precision Systems team, driving mechanical engineering development for semiconductor capital equipment, wafer inspection tools, and analytical instrumentation. Leads the complete mechanical design lifecycle from concept through manufacturing, overseeing multi-axis motion systems, vacuum chambers, and precision positioning stages. Manages a team of mechanical engineers in Pune with hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

What you’ll do

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for precision motion systems and vacuum chambers
• Drive design reviews, FMEA sessions, and tolerance stack‑up analysis
• Manage mechanical engineering teams across multiple time zones
• Define mechanical architecture for multi‑million‑dollar semiconductor equipment projects
• Coordinate with manufacturing on DFM guidelines and assembly validation
• Interface with suppliers for critical components like linear motors and air bearings
• Deliver engineering deliverables following V‑model processes

What you’ll bring

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering
• 15+ years precision mechanical design experience
• 8+ years semiconductor industry experience
• Leadership of 5+ mechanical engineers
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA
• Finite element analysis using ANSYS or Abaqus
• Knowledge of cleanroom-compatible materials
• Experience with motion control systems
