About the role

Job Role :- Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Battery Design Engineer Job Responsibility :- Understand electrical architecture of HEV/EV Conceptualization, Layout, Design and Development of HEV/EV Lithium-Ion Battery pack Specification Determination, Testing and Evaluation of components and sub system Cost & Weight Optimization through VA/VE and Benchmarking Coordination with other design departments/ suppliers & related agencies for design and development Activities COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS :- Technical/Functional :- Ability to work on DMU /3D Modeling/2D Drawing Ability to work on UNIGRAPHICS (desirable) Working experience of Lithium-Ion battery pack design, child part development and testing Knowledge of design, safety and test standards of Lithium-Ion battery Knowledge of types of cells/modules, chemistry, electrical characteristics, battery packs architectures etc. Experience in testing at battery pack level and vehicle level testing Exposure to Hybrid/Electric Powertrain Control Design, development, verification and validation. Familiarity with on board diagnostics. Knowledge of HEV/EV Regulations such as AIS 038 & other relevant regulations Behavioral :- Proactive, takes initiatives and should have good problem-solving skills Open to constantly learn, un-learn & re-learn Motivate team with proper delegation through effective mentorship Envisage change & adapt swiftly to advancements Vision for future through foresight of the industry/consumer trends Should be open to posting anywhere as per the job requirement Educational Qualification: Must Have- B.E./BTech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Desirable - M.E./MTech in Design/Manufacturing Engineering with project work related to Electric Vehicle / Hybrid Electric Vehicle systems Minimum 60 % marks Experience: 10~15 Years of relevant experience

What you’ll do

  • Understand electrical architecture of HEV/EV battery packs
  • Conceptualize, layout, design and develop lithium‑ion battery packs
  • Determine specifications, test and evaluate components and subsystems
  • Optimize cost and weight through VA/VE and benchmarking
  • Coordinate with design departments, suppliers and agencies
  • Test battery packs at pack and vehicle level
  • Support hybrid/electric powertrain control design and validation
  • Mentor team and drive continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

  • 10-15 years relevant experience
  • Experience with Lithium-Ion battery pack design
  • Knowledge of battery safety and test standards
  • Familiarity with HEV/EV regulations such as AIS 038
  • Ability to work on DMU/3D modeling/2D drawing
  • Experience with UNIGRAPHICS (desirable)
