About the role
Alexa International team builds cutting‑edge large language model and multimodal systems for Alexa's global products. The Applied Scientist II develops novel algorithms, fine‑tunes LLMs, creates evaluation metrics, and leads end‑to‑end research to production, mentoring junior scientists along the way. Bengaluru, on‑site role.
What you’ll do
- Develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques for LLMs
- Fine‑tune and post‑train LLMs using SFT, DPO, RLHF/RLAIF
- Design evaluation metrics and frameworks for multimodal assistants
- Lead scientific strategy and influence cross‑team collaborations
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to publications
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years building models for business applications
- Master's degree or PhD in CS, CE, ML or related field
- Experience with patents or top‑tier publications
- Proficient in Java, C++, Python
- Strong algorithms, data structures, optimization, distributed computing
