Engineer IV, Product Security

About the role

Product Security Team at Netgear secures networking products by identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in software, firmware, and services. The Senior Product Security Engineer conducts application and product security assessments, implements SAST and SCA tooling, and guides teams on secure coding practices. Bengaluru and Chennai, Hybrid work model, with collaboration across engineering and QA.

What you’ll do

• Identify, analyze, remediate, and validate security vulnerabilities in software, firmware, and services
• Perform code reviews, vulnerability analysis, and design assessments
• Implement and improve security tooling like SAST, SCA, and CI/CD checks
• Advise teams on secure coding and defensive programming practices
• Use fuzzing, static analysis, and manual testing to discover issues
• Track emerging threats and assess relevance to Netgear products
• Partner with senior engineers to enhance the secure software development lifecycle

What you’ll bring

• 4-5 years experience in application or product security
• Hands‑on with SAST tools such as Semgrep or CodeQL
• Experience with SCA/OSS scanning and fuzzing
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities
• Understanding of networking concepts and security fundamentals
• Ability to collaborate with engineering and QA teams
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficient in English communication
