About the role
Energy Exemplar, a global leader in energy market simulation software, seeks an Energy Market Analyst to support its growing client base in Pune. The role involves mastering PLEXOS and AURORA platforms, delivering technical support, troubleshooting SaaS and desktop issues, and collaborating with development teams. Analysts will conduct onsite and virtual training, produce educational content, and develop tools to enhance user experience. They must maintain up-to-date knowledge of power markets, capacity and environmental markets, and demand-side management, while communicating insights to stakeholders. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, economics, or related fields, along with 2–4 years of experience in power plant operations and market analysis. Proficiency in VBA, Python, SQL, and Microsoft Office is essential. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are critical, as is the ability to work independently and travel to client sites as required.
What you’ll do
- Master advanced use of our software.
- Provide end-to-end technical support and case tracking.
- Resolve client issues for SaaS/Cloud and desktop products.
- Collaborate with developers to document and fix issues.
- Deliver onsite and web-based training to clients.
- Update and maintain training materials.
- Create articles and videos to educate and promote software.
- Develop tools and examples for client use.
- Maintain user documentation and help platforms.
- Stay current on power market news, trends, and developments.
- Share market trends and client needs with dev team.
- Support account management with retention calls and visits.
- Prepare presentations for energy tradeshows and conferences.
- Travel to client sites as needed.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Stats, CS, IS, Econ, Math, Physics, or related.
- 2-4 years experience in power plant operations, electricity and gas markets.
- Knowledge of energy market analysis, capacity markets, environmental markets, demand side management.
- Experience with SaaS products and troubleshooting Cloud offerings.
- Proficiency in VBA, Python, SQL, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with power market production cost and expansion planning models.
- Degree or certificate specializing in Power Markets.
