About the role
Energy Exemplar's Data and Market Analysis team develops simulation‑ready datasets for power and gas markets. The analyst builds and maintains global market models using PLEXOS and Aurora, leads research, benchmarking, and result analysis, and guides junior analysts in data processing and model execution. Based in Pune with a hybrid work model, the role supports global stakeholders and offers opportunities to influence energy market decisions.
What you’ll do
- Supervise development of global power and gas market datasets
- Coordinate market research, model updates, and benchmarking
- Run and interpret PLEXOS/Aurora simulations
- Troubleshoot model inconsistencies and improve data quality
- Lead project delivery of standalone and partial datasets
- Guide analysts in data preparation and model execution
- Analyze market results to ensure product specifications are met
- Document findings and communicate insights to stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- 2-4 years energy market modeling experience
- Proficiency with PLEXOS, Aurora or similar tools
- Strong numeracy and Excel/Power BI skills
- Understanding of power plant and natural gas economics
- Experience with transmission planning and nodal modeling
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior analysts
- Knowledge of North American, European or Asian power markets
- Familiarity with Agile/Sprint practices
