Principal Engineer, Process, Mining & Minerals Processing

About the role

Process Engineering team at WSP India designs and delivers mineral processing solutions for mining infrastructure projects. The Principal Engineer leads the development, maintenance, and control of process design basis, including mass and energy balances, design criteria, flowsheets, PFDs and P&IDs, while guiding junior engineers and ensuring safety and quality standards. Mumbai, India (Hybrid) with additional work in Bengaluru, India, relocation support available.

What you’ll do

• Own and maintain process design basis across project phases
• Produce and control design deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, design criteria)
• Coordinate change management for process designs
• Support client interactions and business development activities
• Monitor schedule, budget and quality for process engineering scopes

What you’ll bring

• 8-12 years mineral processing experience
• Bachelor's in Chemical, Metallurgical or Mineral Processing Engineering
• Experience with iron ore, coal, mineral sands or battery minerals
• Proficiency in METSIM, JKSimMet, HSC or similar software
• Registered Engineer or working towards chartership

Nice to have

• Lead process design basis ownership
• Develop and review mass & energy balances and P&IDs
• Manage metallurgical testwork programs and interpret results
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with safety, standards and client requirements
