Senior Business Transformation Consultant, Smart City

About the role

Business Transformation (Smart City) team at EY drives urban innovation projects across mobility, utilities, health, public safety and governance. The Senior Consultant leads end‑to‑end Smart City initiatives, shaping strategy, designing solutions, and delivering digital, sustainable interventions while collaborating with city planners, policy experts and technology partners. Based in Kochi, India, onsite role with a Sunday‑to‑Thursday work week supporting MENA‑region clients.

What you’ll do

• Lead end‑to‑end Smart City projects from scoping to delivery
• Develop feasibility studies, city blueprints, business cases and ROI models
• Collaborate with technical SMEs, city planners and policy experts to co‑create solutions
• Conduct research on trends, regulations and client behaviors to inform recommendations
• Author thought‑leadership content and present insights to stakeholders
• Support business development through proposals and go‑to‑market strategies
• Manage multi‑disciplinary teams and ensure delivery excellence
• Maintain client relationships and align initiatives with strategic goals

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years in smart city consulting or urban planning
• 3+ years delivering Smart City or Smart Infrastructure projects
• Experience with ISO 37100, ITU or NIST Smart City frameworks
• Knowledge of IoT/AI use cases in urban contexts
• Familiarity with PPP/BOOT business models
• Strong stakeholder engagement and proposal writing skills
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, GIS, BIM or Digital Twin tools
• Willingness to travel onsite and work Sunday‑to‑Thursday MENA hours
