DFT Principal Engineer

About the role

onsemi DFT Engineering team, focused on ensuring testability and manufacturability of ASIC/SoC products for automotive, industrial and consumer markets. The Principal Engineer leads DFT strategy, architecture design, and a team of engineers to develop robust test plans, including ATPG, BIST and scan insertion, while maintaining compliance with ISO 26262. Based in Bangalore, India, the role is on-site with a full‑time schedule.

What you’ll do

• Develop DFT methodologies for automotive/industrial/consumer ASIC/SoC products
• Integrate DFT features into product architecture
• Lead and mentor a team of DFT engineers
• Create comprehensive test plans (ATPG, BIST, scan insertion)
• Collaborate with design, validation, test and manufacturing teams
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards
• Evaluate and implement DFT tools
• Drive continuous improvement in DFT processes

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years experience in DFT for ASIC/SoC design
• Strong background in automotive applications
• Proven leadership of DFT teams
• Experience in post‑silicon debug and yield improvement
• In‑depth knowledge of scan design, boundary scan, BIST, fault simulation
• Familiarity with ISO 26262
• Proficiency in DFT tools and EDA software
• Excellent communication skills
