Senior Lead Observability

About the role

Observability Platform Team at Northern Trust builds enterprise-wide monitoring solutions to ensure reliable, scalable services across cloud and on‑premise environments. The Senior Lead designs, implements and automates observability across Dynatrace, Microsoft SCOM and ServiceNow Event Management, creating dashboards, alerts and synthetic checks while reducing noise and improving incident response. Based in Pune or Bangalore, India, this role works on‑site with hybrid collaboration across infrastructure, application and cloud teams.

What you’ll do

• Implement and enhance observability platforms (Dynatrace, SCOM, ServiceNow)
• Configure monitoring for infrastructure, applications, databases and cloud services
• Develop alerts, dashboards, synthetic checks and anomaly detection
• Drive alert hygiene, reduce noise and improve event correlation
• Build automation scripts using Python, PowerShell and REST APIs
• Support onboarding of new services into monitoring tools
• Troubleshoot monitoring gaps and integration issues
• Maintain documentation, runbooks and operational standards

• 10+ years IT experience
• Hands‑on Dynatrace monitoring and automation
• Microsoft SCOM configuration and tuning
• ServiceNow Event Management integration
• Python or PowerShell scripting
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• Cloud platforms Azure or AWS
• ITIL process knowledge
