Senior Lead Observability

About the role

Observability Engineering at Northern Trust builds enterprise‑wide monitoring solutions to ensure reliable, scalable services across infrastructure, applications and cloud. The Senior Lead designs, implements and automates observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Microsoft SCOM and ServiceNow ITOM, creates alert hygiene processes and develops dashboards and synthetic checks. Works on‑site in Pune and Bangalore, India, collaborating with platform, application and operations teams to onboard services and improve incident response.

What you’ll do

• Implement and improve enterprise observability platforms
• Develop alerts, dashboards, synthetic checks and anomaly detection
• Drive alert hygiene and reduce noise
• Integrate monitoring tools with ServiceNow Event Management
• Build automation scripts using Python, PowerShell and REST APIs
• Support SCOM monitoring configurations and management packs
• Partner with teams to onboard applications into monitoring platforms
• Maintain documentation, runbooks and operational guides

• 12+ years IT experience
• Strong Dynatrace expertise
• Microsoft SCOM experience
• ServiceNow ITOM knowledge
• Python and PowerShell automation
• CI/CD and IaC familiarity
• Azure/AWS cloud background
• ITIL process understanding
