Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

A partner company seeks a Senior QA Automation Engineer to champion quality within an agile environment based in India. The role involves full lifecycle testing, including automation, API validation, and defect investigation, while collaborating with product and engineering teams. This is a fully remote position focused on continuous improvement and technical ownership.

What you’ll do

• Develop comprehensive test strategies and detailed test cases
• Build and maintain robust automated test suites
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and exploratory tests
• Investigate defects and document clear reproduction steps
• Validate functionality and provide production sign-off
• Perform backend testing via APIs, queues, and databases
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams
• Advocate for quality engineering practices across the organization

What you’ll bring

• 5–8+ years of QA experience in Agile environments
• Strong SQL skills and relational database tool experience
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, message queues, and databases
• Proficiency in JavaScript for test script writing
• Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Expertise in API testing tools like Postman or Swagger
