Principal System Software Architect

About the role

Analog Devices’ HW/SW Co‑Design team seeks a Principal System Software Architect to drive early, data‑driven architecture decisions for SoC and IP design. The role blends SystemC virtual platform development, hardware/software trade‑off analysis, and customer advocacy to ensure high‑performance, debuggable, and user‑friendly products. Based in Bangalore, the position requires on‑site collaboration with hardware architects and occasional travel.

What you’ll do

• Drive hardware/software trade‑offs early in product definition
• Evaluate system designs and IP blocks from a software perspective
• Advocate for customer software teams and build relationships
• Co‑define IP blocks and accelerators with hardware teams
• Champion debuggability and observability
• Develop early virtual platforms and validate architecture decisions
• Quantitatively justify sizing and IP selection
• Engage with technical experts at customer organizations

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years system software architecture
• SystemC TLM 2.0 virtual platform
• C/C++ firmware and driver development
• AMBA protocol expertise
• SoC/ASIC pre‑silicon workflow
• RTL reading (Verilog/SystemVerilog)
