About the role
Principal Software Engineer on Unisys System Programming team, building and leading design of core system software components. Leads architecture, standards, and tooling while mentoring across product lines and drives performance and governance processes. Bangalore, India, on-site, full-time.
What you’ll do
- Lead design and development of complex system software initiatives
- Define architectural standards, tools, and methodologies for consistency and quality
- Identify and integrate new technologies to improve system performance
- Collaborate with senior development and functional teams to simplify and integrate products
- Develop software engineering governance and performance management processes
- Create and deliver training and education for system users and engineering colleagues
- Identify intellectual property opportunities and recommend patent filings
What you’ll bring
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 13+ years system software product development experience
- Hands‑on C, C++, VC++ development
- Experience with Windows debugging tools and crash dumps
- Proficiency with Microsoft WindDbg, CDB, Visual Studio, Intel OneAPI IDE
- Deep knowledge of OS and system‑level programming across Windows and Linux
- Extensive work on compiler internals and optimization
- Experience with profiling tools such as Intel VTune, WPA, OProfile, Valgrind
