About the role
Lead Power Electronics Hardware Engineer at GE Vernova’s Power Conversion India team. Designs, sizes, simulates, tests, and validates LV/MV drive hardware for industrial VSDs and VFDs, ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with UL/IEC standards. Works closely with system engineers and product managers, mentors junior team members, and supports factory and vendor manufacturing. Chennai, India, on-site with relocation assistance.
What you’ll do
- Lead design and development of LV/MV drive hardware
- Size and simulate drive and filter components
- Prepare design documents, BOMs, and drawings
- Validate prototype performance under all operating conditions
- Support manufacturing and conduct FATs
- Coordinate with system engineers and product managers
- Mentor and guide team members
- Travel as required
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- 6-8 years of industrial drive design and testing
- Experience with AUTOCAD/E-Plan and MATLAB/Simulink
- In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems
