About the role

Lead Power Electronics Hardware Engineer at GE Vernova’s Power Conversion India team. Designs, sizes, simulates, tests, and validates LV/MV drive hardware for industrial VSDs and VFDs, ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with UL/IEC standards. Works closely with system engineers and product managers, mentors junior team members, and supports factory and vendor manufacturing. Chennai, India, on-site with relocation assistance.

What you’ll do

  • Lead design and development of LV/MV drive hardware
  • Size and simulate drive and filter components
  • Prepare design documents, BOMs, and drawings
  • Validate prototype performance under all operating conditions
  • Support manufacturing and conduct FATs
  • Coordinate with system engineers and product managers
  • Mentor and guide team members
  • Travel as required

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • 6-8 years of industrial drive design and testing
  • Experience with AUTOCAD/E-Plan and MATLAB/Simulink
  • In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems
