Lead Power Electronics Engineer
About the role
Lead Power Electronics Engineer responsible for design, sizing, simulation, testing, and validation of LV/MV drives (VSD/VFD). Leads core AC/DC power electronics, drive & filter sizing, hardware design, loss budgeting, Arc Flash, RCA. Translates specs into calculations, models, and simulations. Designs for reliability, manufacturability, cost. Prepares and validates design docs (configurations, BOM, SLD, drawings). Verifies prototype performance, supports manufacturing, conducts FATs per UL/IEC. Coordinates with system engineers and program managers. May travel.
What you’ll do
- Lead LV/MV Drive Engineering (AC/DC systems)
- Size Drive & Filter, design hardware, calculate loss, Arc Flash, RCA
- Translate specs into design calculations, modeling, simulations
- Design for reliability, testing, manufacturability, cost
- Produce & validate design docs: configs, operation, specs, BOM, SLD, drawings
- Verify prototype hardware performance under all conditions
- Support manufacturing, document test requirements, conduct FATs per UL/IEC
- Coordinate with System Engineer, Program/Product/Project managers
- Travel may be required
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor/Master in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years Power electronics design & testing for Industrial drives
- In-depth knowledge of Motors/Drive control Systems
Nice to have
Preferred experience in AUTOCAD, E-Plan, MATLAB/Simulink
