About the role
The Engineer - Controls Engineering role within Systems engineering & commissioning focuses on designing, optimizing, and verifying control systems to meet both business and technical customer needs from concept through operation. Day-to-day work includes applying control theory and mathematical modeling, developing control logic and algorithms, integrating IEDs per IEC61850, troubleshooting network architecture for SAS systems, and executing site commissioning per approved designs and FAT. Based in Pallavaram, this is an on-site position requiring willingness to travel.

- Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs
- Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design control systems with desired behaviors, including operability, boundary setting, cycle optimization, control logic, control-related software, s
- Commission the system as per the design approved by the customer and FAT carried out
- Resolve issues using established procedures and consult supervisor or senior team members for issues outside defined instructions
- Collaborate with others to solve issues and, for customer-facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE
What you’ll bring
- Basic experience in Site Commissioning, Engineering/Technology & Controls Engineering
- Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience with relevant commissioning experience
- Knowledge of integration of IEDs of different OEMs with IEC61850
- Ability to troubleshoot network architecture for proper functioning of SAS System
- Willingness to travel
