About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services – Infrastructure Operations (Data Center) Team builds and maintains the physical backbone of AWS global cloud services. The engineer drives risk management, preventive maintenance, vendor coordination and incident response for critical electrical, mechanical and fire safety systems, while supervising contractors and reporting performance metrics. Mumbai, India, on-site role with shift rotations and on‑call duties.
What you’ll do
- Act as primary site contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Meet daily operational hours, on‑call rotations and response requirements
- Manage planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure
- Supervise contractors, sub‑contractors and vendors ensuring compliance
- Establish performance benchmarks, analyze data and prepare facility reports
- Generate change and incident management tickets for DCEO activities
- Coordinate projects with IT, networking, logistics, safety and security teams
- Drive projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability and reliability
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years data centre or critical environment experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Nice to have
- Electrical or Mechanical Journeyman License
- Construction or project management experience
- Knowledge of utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, ATS, batteries, generators, surge suppression, harmonic filtering, SCADA systems
