About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services team designs, plans, delivers, and operates AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous cloud availability. The Data Centre Engineering Operations Engineer owns hands‑on management of mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems, handling incidents, maintenance, asset inventory, and vendor coordination across Indian data centers. Mumbai, India, on-site role with 24x7 on‑call and rotating 12‑hour shifts, relocation possible.
What you’ll do
- Own end‑to‑end incident, change, and problem management
- Plan and execute maintenance of electrical/mechanical/fire systems
- Manage asset and inventory tracking
- Develop SOPs, emergency response procedures, and technical documentation
- Provide hands‑on facility support and oversee contractor activities
- Generate engineering reports and ensure SLA/KPI compliance
- Participate in on‑call rotation and 12‑hour shift schedules
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years data centre operations
- Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Nice to have
- Knowledge of electrical systems (UPS, PDUs, generators)
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (CRAC, chillers, cooling towers)
