Lead Engineer, Dry Utilities

About the role

Energy team at AECOM seeks a Lead Engineer, Dry Utilities to design and deliver utility infrastructure for global energy projects. The role leads detailed engineering assignments, guides entry‑level engineers, and ensures designs meet budget and schedule constraints. Hybrid work model with at least three days onsite in Gurugram, Haryana, India, with occasional travel to project sites.

What you’ll do

• Perform detailed engineering design for dry utility systems
• Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures
• Develop and modify standard methods to solve new problems
• Identify discrepancies and ensure design compliance with budget and schedule
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry‑level engineers
• Prepare and review documentation for electrical, lighting, telecom, and water treatment projects

What you’ll bring

• B.Tech or Master of Engineering in relevant discipline
• 5-10 years engineering experience, preferably on international projects
• Proficiency with ETAP, Dialux, AGI, Lighting Reality, Amtech
• Experience in electrical design (EHV/HV/MV/LV), street lighting, telecom, ELV, ICT networks
• Ability to perform design calculations for lighting, cable sizing, earthing, fault level
• Strong problem‑solving and guidance skills for junior engineers
