Senior Workday Analyst

Bengaluru Full-time

About the role

Zillow's People Technology organization builds and operates the platforms that power how Zillow employees work, including Workday, ServiceNow, and an agentic AI layer connecting these systems to surfaces like Slack, Google Workspace, and Zoom. The India engineering team owns this platform stack end to end. As a Senior Workday Analyst, you lead the most complex Workday configuration initiatives, design scalable multi-module solutions, set team standards, resolve critical incidents, and mentor analysts while partnering with HR and business leaders. This is an Office position based in Bengaluru, requiring regular work at the Zillow India office approximately 80 to 100 percent of the time each month.

What you’ll do

  • Take the lead on the most complex and challenging configuration work, designing multi-component solutions across modules and translating ambiguous business needs into effective, maintainable builds
  • Partner with senior HR and business leaders to shape requirements and scope, not just take orders, and push back when scope is unclear
  • Set the standard for how each tool in the Workday toolbox is used (business process framework, condition rules, calculated fields, custom reports and dashboards, RaaS, security configuration, and EIBs
  • Develop frameworks for configuration, data management, and permissioning that reduce data-privacy risk and engineering toil, and drive their adoption across the team
  • Serve as the escalation point for the most difficult and critical incidents; resolve them and ensure they do not recur; set the standard for root cause analysis, dashboards, metrics, and runbooks
  • Lead release management (impact assessment, regression strategy, adoption of new functionality), using AI tools to synthesize release content and decide what is worth pursuing
  • Own the security and configuration governance posture (role assignment, business rules, eligibility) in partnership with security, developing frameworks and standards that reduce toil and data-privacy
  • Establish team practices for AI-assisted requirements analysis, documentation, configuration, development, and test planning, and help others build that fluency

What you’ll bring

  • 5-8+ years of HRIS or HR operations experience, with 4+ years of hands-on Workday configuration
  • Deep, hands-on expertise across 3+ Workday modules (HCM required)
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field (B.E./B.Tech/MCA), or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous, multi-stakeholder initiatives from problem definition through delivery
  • Track record of setting standards and mentoring other analysts
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, including the ability to steer a requirements conversation with senior leaders and push back when scope is unclear
  • Fluent with AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) across research, documentation, solution design, and test planning
  • Ability to build AI fluency in others
