About the role
The Senior Associate – Transaction Management role sits within State Street's Middle Office / Transaction Management department, supporting end-to-end transaction management across global financial markets. Day-to-day work covers trade settlement lifecycle management, trade confirmation and matching, static data maintenance, exception and reconciliation handling, and proactive client and stakeholder servicing across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Money Markets, and Derivatives. The position is based in Mumbai and Pune.
What you’ll do
- Manage the complete settlement lifecycle for securities and cash transactions, including monitoring settlement queues and timely release of trade instructions.
- Investigate and resolve unmatched and failed trades by coordinating with brokers, custodians, counterparties, and internal teams.
- Perform pre-settlement and post-settlement monitoring and execute corrective actions on settlement exceptions within market deadlines.
- Process transaction amendments, SSI updates, and settlement instruction changes, including force settlement and pre-advice processing where applicable.
- Perform daily confirmation and matching of trades through electronic matching platforms and manual processes, investigating confirmation breaks and discrepancies.
- Manage broker matching activities while adhering to client-specific matching tolerances and SLAs, and support CTM, Trade Nexus, Trade Suite, Alert, SWIFT, and other matching utilities.
- Create, maintain, and validate standing settlement instructions (SSI) and maintain security master, counterparty, broker, custodian, and market reference data.
- Adhere to operational risk and control standards, identify process gaps, recommend automation or process improvements, and support audit, compliance, and regulatory reviews.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 4 to 8 years of financial services experience.
- Experience in Trade Settlements, Trade Confirmation, Static Data Management, Custody Operations, or Middle Office Operations.
- Exposure to global securities markets and settlement practices.
- Product knowledge across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Money Market, and Derivatives.
- Trade lifecycle management and settlement and confirmation processes.
- SWIFT Messaging proficiency (MT54x, MT599, MT3xx).
- Reconciliation and exception management skills.
Nice to have
- Relevant industry certifications such as CFA, FRM, CISI, or investment operations certifications.
- Systems knowledge of GTM, CTM, ALERT, TradeSuite, Bloomberg, Aladdin, Charles River, custody platforms, SWIFT applications, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
