Atomgrid - R&D Associate (Organic Chemistry)

About the role

Atomgrid seeks an R&D Associate with expertise in Organic Chemistry to join their team in Bengaluru. The role involves process development, optimization, and scale-up of organic molecules. The ideal candidate will collaborate with R&D and process teams to translate lab-scale reactions into scalable manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include executing multiple reactions, using analytical techniques, and ensuring lab safety and IP confidentiality. The position requires a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and 2-5 years of experience in R&D or Process Development.

What you’ll do

• Execute multiple reactions in parallel
• Plan and optimize chemical processes
• Ensure lab safety and IP confidentiality
• Document experiments and results accurately
• Collaborate with R&D and process teams
• Lead and mentor a team of scientists
• Conduct literature searches and data interpretation
• Perform cost analysis and ROS evaluation

What you’ll bring

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
• 2-5 years of R&D or Process Development experience
• Experience in process development and scale-up
• Hands-on with air and moisture-sensitive reactions
• Skilled in isolation and purification techniques
• Proficient in analytical data interpretation (NMR, Mass, HPLC, GC)
• Good command of literature search tools (SciFinder, Reaxys)
• Ability to document experiments accurately

Nice to have

• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of scientists
• Expertise in technology transfer and cost-effective process development
• Solid understanding of reaction mechanisms and process impurities
• Proficient in technical documentation, ROS evaluation, and cost analysis
• Ensures lab safety, IP confidentiality, and effective cross-functional coordination
