Senior Lead Engineer – NSP/NPU System Software

About the role

Qualcomm’s Central Software Engineering team seeks a Senior Lead Engineer for the Neural Signal Processor (NSP) System software group in Bangalore, India. The role involves architecting and developing system software frameworks and high-performance drivers for Qualcomm SoCs to support multimedia and AI inferencing workloads. This is an on-site position requiring collaboration with global hardware and platform teams.

What you’ll do

  • Architect, design, and develop software frameworks across SoC processors
  • Develop high-performance system drivers for compute resources
  • Identify performance optimization areas for software and hardware architectures
  • Integrate, test, and commercially support embedded software solutions
  • Deploy platform software for complex Multimedia and Deep Learning use cases
  • Partner with hardware architecture and platform software teams
  • Drive architecture and development of system software for heterogeneous computing
  • Work offsite and onsite with OEMs and ISVs as required

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or related field
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering work experience
  • 2+ years experience with C, C++, Java, or Python

Nice to have

  • 4+ years writing scalable C/C++ multi-threaded applications
  • Experience with Android/Embedded Linux/QNX operating systems
  • Deep understanding of CPU/DSP/NPU architectures
  • Proficiency in threading, mutex, synchronization, and parallel computing
  • Experience with build systems like CMake, Make, ninja, Yocto
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Perforce
  • Hands-on experience with system analysis tools for optimization
  • Master's degree preferred with minimum 6 years relevant experience
