About the role

Applied Science and Engineering – Knowledge Graphs & AI at Outreach leads the vision and execution of a per‑tenant contextual knowledge graph powering next‑best‑action recommendations, deal risk signals, and agentic AI workflows. The director builds and scales a high‑performing team of applied scientists and research engineers, defines the multi‑year technical roadmap, and partners with product, engineering, and design to translate research into production impact. Based in Hyderabad with a fully remote model, the role offers executive visibility and a path to senior leadership.

What you’ll do

• Define and own the multi‑year technical roadmap
• Build, hire, and lead a team of applied scientists and research engineers
• Drive the design of per‑tenant knowledge graph schemas and ontologies
• Oversee pipelines for structured knowledge extraction
• Lead development of reasoning and inference layers
• Partner with cross‑functional leaders
• Establish research‑to‑production pipelines
• Engage with academic community

What you’ll bring

• PhD in CS, ML, NLP, or related field
• 10+ years in applied science or ML
• 3+ years leading teams of 5+ applied scientists
• Deep expertise in knowledge graph construction, entity resolution, information extraction, graph neural networks, temporal reasoning, or recommender systems
• Strong engineering fundamentals
• Proficiency in Python / Golang
• Experience with graph databases or query languages (Neo4j, SPARQL, Cypher)

Nice to have

• Experience building multi‑tenant knowledge graph systems
• Background in B2B SaaS domains
• Experience integrating knowledge graphs with LLM‑based systems
• Publications in top‑tier venues
