About the role
Energy & Utilities team at SMEC India supports the MSTU Saswad 400/220/132 kV AIS Substation Project, overseeing electrical construction and ensuring quality and safety compliance. The Field Engineer supervises day‑to‑day electrical activities, monitors progress, inspects materials, and coordinates with the client, contractor, and Independent Engineer. Mumbai, on‑site role, hybrid schedule as defined by project needs.
What you’ll do
- Supervise electrical construction activities on site
- Monitor progress and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship for quality and safety
- Witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems
- Maintain site records and progress documentation
- Coordinate with Independent Engineer, client, contractor, and stakeholders
- Identify construction issues and support timely resolution
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
What you’ll bring
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Nice to have
- 3–5 years experience in EHV/HV substation construction
- Experience with AIS/GIS substation projects preferred
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning activities
