Finance Business Partner – Business Controlling

About the role

Hitachi Energy Technology Services seeks a Finance Business Partner in Chennai to provide business controlling, planning, and analysis support. The role ensures accurate financial insights, robust process governance, and stakeholder partnership through standardization and automation. This full-time position operates on a remote work model.

What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end Business Controlling and analytical services including automated and ad-hoc reports
• Support financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and baseline reviews
• Analyze monthly and quarterly MIS, benchmark performance, investigate variances, and communicate insights
• Manage controlling activities including budgeting, cost control, charging mechanisms, accruals, and tax compliance
• Review actual cost performance versus plan and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions
• Drive annual operating plan for engineering and R&D center and lead budget discussions
• Ensure revenue recovery and maintain transfer pricing regulations
• Oversee financial systems and master data governance including chart of accounts and project setup

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• CA/CMAs qualification
• 3–5 years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial/Functional Controlling, and R&D Controlling
• Strong experience in process management, project controlling, and performance analysis
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial planning & reporting tools

Nice to have

• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Power BI / automation experience is a plus
• Experience in industrial or GCC environments preferred
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English
