About the role

Finance Business Partner at Avantor Asia Middle East Africa (AMEA) in Pune, India. The role is part of the Global Business Center (GBC) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, partnering with Avantor leadership to drive key strategic priorities. Responsibilities include acting as the Finance Business Partner for Operations, providing forward‑looking analysis, recommending actions to finance leadership, and partnering on ad‑hoc projects. The candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for planning, forecasting, and month‑end closures, support revenue, cost of sales, margins, Opex/Capex, and working capital analysis, and prepare weekly/monthly management review decks. They will lead the establishment of global standardized reporting, adopt ABS practices, and drive process simplifications and improvements. Mentoring new team members and contributing to business‑specific and global initiatives are also key. Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in accounting or finance (CA/ICWAI/CPA/MBA Finance from reputed universities), 8‑10 years of finance/accounting experience in MNC Captive Finance Shared Services or Global Centers, and prior experience with Pharma companies. Preferred skills are Six Sigma or Lean training, strong ERP knowledge (SAP), and proficiency in MS Office, Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView, and HFM. The role is full‑time, on‑site in Pune, with no salary disclosed.

What you’ll do

  • Act as Finance Business Partner for Operations team, providing insights and initiating discussions.
  • Analyze trends and provide proactive recommendations to finance leadership.
  • Partner with Finance/Operations leadership on ad hoc projects/reporting.
  • Assess existing KPI’s/reports, identify gaps, propose changes.
  • Act as SME of function/business, support planning, forecasting & month end closures.
  • Provide insights in Revenue, Cost Of Sales, Margins, Opex/Capex & Working Capital.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly Management Review decks.
  • Involve in performance review discussions.
  • Assist finance leadership in driving key business-specific/global initiatives.
  • Lead in establishing Global Standardized Reporting.
  • Adopt ABS practices.
  • Collaborate on process simplifications/improvements.
  • Prepare process documentation.
  • Prepare financial analysis for what-if scenarios.
  • Coach and mentor new team members.

What you’ll bring

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance. CA/ICWAI/CPA/MBA Finance from reputed universities.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in finance and/or accounting related fields, preferably in MNC’s Captive Finance Shared Services Organizations/Global Centers.
  • Prior experience in Working with Pharma companies preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean training preferred, but not mandatory.
  • A working knowledge of the wide-ranging aspects of the finance such as FP&A, Accounting, Integrated Supply Chain & Costing.
  • Experience in leveraging financial and business systems to monitor business activities and aid in decision making.
