About the role

Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) – Turbine Control Software team builds high‑performance embedded software that powers wind turbines worldwide. The Senior Software Architect leads the design and evolution of safety‑critical C++ embedded systems, defines architecture guidelines for a 400‑person global team, and ensures alignment across engineering, operations, and AI‑enabled development. Based in Aarhus, Porto, or Chennai with up to 15 days travel per year, the role offers hybrid collaboration across multi‑location teams.

What you’ll do

• Define and safeguard software architecture for turbine control systems
• Lead design, coding standards, and architectural patterns for embedded C++ applications
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and remote teams to align technical solutions
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement of processes and tools
• Support AI agentic frameworks integration and provide troubleshooting for customer issues
• Promote automated testing, CI pipelines, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Electronics, Software Engineering or related field
• Extensive modern C++ (C++17/20) experience
• Proven technical leadership in large Agile organizations
• Embedded real‑time or safety‑critical software development
• Knowledge of Docker, Linux, CI/CD tools (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
