About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Senior Software Architect in Chennai, India, to advance materials science and engineering solutions powering semiconductor chips and advanced displays. The role involves conducting requirement analysis, design, and development of software, including Matlab and scripts coding, test automation, installation kit creation, and debugging, while providing maintenance and support for software systems. The position is full-time with 10% travel and relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Conduct requirement analysis, design, and development of software
• Perform Matlab coding, scripts coding, and write test automation
• Create installation kits and take responsibility for debugging
• Provide maintenance and support for software systems
• Act as an individual contributor excelling in main work routines at high complexity level
• Gather and analyze data and draw professional conclusions
• May act as a lead for the team, allocate work, and provide subject matter guidance to junior members
• Exercise judgment to identify and solve problems with little or no precedent
