About the role
Mainframe Services team at Kyndryl manages mission‑critical storage for enterprise z/OS environments. The role administers DFSMS/DFSMShsm, monitors capacity, performs backup, recovery and DR activities, and advises clients on modernization. Hybrid work from Chennai or Bangalore, India with on‑site days as needed.
What you’ll do
- Manage and configure DASD storage in SMS‑managed environments
- Develop and maintain backup/restore procedures and performance tuning
- Administer storage groups, ACS routines, migration and recovery tasks
- Perform capacity monitoring, VTOC resizing, defragmentation and dataset reclamation
- Collaborate with technicians to prioritize tickets and deliver solutions
- Recommend modernization options and identify new business opportunities
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years managing z/OS DASD storage
- Administer DFSMS/DFSMShsm
- Capacity monitoring and planning
- Backup, recovery and DR processes
- Experience with IBM z/OS products (TSO, JCL, SDSF, IDCAMS)
- Knowledge of GDPS and CA products
- Mainframe modernization concepts
