About the role

The Alexa Edge AI team seeks an Applied Scientist in Bangalore to design and deploy multimodal machine learning models for edge and cloud devices. This founding member role involves end-to-end ML lifecycle ownership, research innovation, and establishing technical culture at the new site. The position is full-time and on-site in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

What you’ll do

• Design deep learning models for computer vision, audio, and multimodal fusion
• Own the full ML lifecycle from problem formulation to deployment
• Conduct research and publish at top-tier scientific venues
• Mentor team members and establish technical practices as a founding member

What you’ll bring

• PhD or Master's degree with 3+ years of CS/ML experience
• 1+ years building models for business applications
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python
• Experience with speech recognition, translation, or NLP systems

Nice to have

• Publications at top-tier venues like CVPR or NeurIPS
• Expertise in CV, Audio, or multimodal language models
• Experience with distributed training and model optimization techniques
• Ability to define technical roadmaps in ambiguous environments
