About the role
Mainframe Operations team at Kyndryl manages mission‑critical z/OS environments for global enterprises. The System Administrator leads z/OS system programming, designs resilient mainframe infrastructure, and drives automation, performance and security compliance. Chennai, India, hybrid (on‑site) model with multiple office locations across Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, and Noida.
What you’ll do
- Lead z/OS system programming initiatives
- Design and implement scalable mainframe infrastructure
- Manage upgrades, migrations, and SMP/E maintenance
- Oversee core components such as JES, storage, and networking
- Support enterprise subsystems CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ
- Drive automation, performance optimization, and capacity forecasting
- Resolve critical incidents with root cause analysis
- Ensure security, compliance, and SLA adherence
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years IBM z/OS system programming
- SMP/E installation and maintenance
- JES2/JES3 administration
- CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ support
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
- Shell/REXX/CLIST scripting
